Narrative Medicine for Disaster Case Managers
Join Laura Hope Gill, head of the Narrative Healthcare program at Lenoir-Rhyne University for a 2-hour narrative medicine workshop where we’ll explore how to honor, encourage, and facilitate trauma-and-culturally sensitive storytelling as good medicine for survivors that we work with, as well as the survivors that we also are.
Narrative Medicine is a newly recognized field with nearly 1000 studies supporting storytelling and writing's role in healing trauma and developing lifelong well-being.
This event will take place at 216 Whitson Avenue, in the sanctuary of a former Methodist Church in Swannanoa full of gorgeous stained glass windows, on November 6, from 2-4 pm.
Please bring something to write with: pen, pencil, paper, laptop are all welcome!
